Abstract

Baturiti Village serves as a hub for natural tourism efforts, encompassing 12 villages, four of which significantly contribute to the natural tourism sector. The government has fostered tourism development through the "Baturiti Bersemi" Community-Based Tourism (CBT) group. However, there is a need for improvement in service aspects, particularly in ensuring safety and educating visitors about disaster-safe tourism to maintain a positive tourist experience. The aim of this research is to explore community empowerment in Antapan waterfall tourism and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive research approach, aiming to outline or describe structured phenomena or relationships between researched phenomena based on facts and with a high level of accuracy. The data sources for this research include primary and secondary data. The research is conducted in Antapan Village, Baturiti Subdistrict. The results reveal the role of community groups in the Tourism Village, demonstrating community participation in its development. There are four forms of community participation: 1) Thoughtful participation, 2) Physical effort participation, 3) Participation in the skills and abilities of the community, and 4) Participation in material assets. Supporting factors in Antapan waterfall tourism include various facilities and services for visitors, such as eateries, affordable prices, swimming gear rentals, photo spots, playground equipment rentals, and souvenir shops. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include poor accessibility, a prevalent issue at Antapan Waterfall, and inadequate waste management.
