Analisis Potensi Wisata Setigi Dampak Ekonomi dan Sosial Masyarakat Desa Sekapuk Kecamatan Ujungpangkah Kabupaten Gresik

Abstract

The tourism sector has become one of the government's main focuses in rural development. The potential of natural resources in villages can be explored and developed to provide greater economic, social, and physical-geographical benefits to the community. In efforts to tidy up and revive the economy of both the community and the tourism sector, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, emphasizes the importance of promptly reactivating tourist destinations in Indonesia. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach. The research results identify in detail 1) the natural uniqueness and scenic beauty of the former limestone quarry as the main factors that make it attractive as a tourist destination. The study also considers visual aspects, such as sunset panoramas, which add to the exoticism of the tourist site. Furthermore, the research includes the identification of 2) additional attraction potentials that can be introduced or developed. These include various 3) adventure activities such as ATV or mini trail motorbike rides, environmental education such as introducing local flora and fauna, and cultural activities such as art performances or traditional events. All of these aim to enrich tourists' experiences and enhance the appeal of Setigi tourism as an attractive and diverse destination. The research also indicates an increase in the local community's economy through: 1) Evaluating the positive impact on local community income, 2) Increasing job opportunities, developing small and medium enterprises in the tourism sector, and transforming the lifestyle and culture of the community as a result of tourism industry growth. Additionally, 3) The study also considers the level of community involvement and participation in the management of Setigi Tourism as well as efforts to improve the welfare and empowerment of the local community.
