The preservation of tradition in Kampoeng Lama Tourism Village is grounded in the 1945 Constitution Articles 29 and 32, Law No. 5 of 2017 on Cultural Advancement, and Law No. 10 of 2009 on Tourism. However, it faces cultural erosion due to modernization, youth participation below 40%, commercialization of traditions, and unequal distribution of tourism benefits. The objectives of this study are: 1) to analyze the forms and roles of participation and empowerment of the Muslim community in tourism activities, 2) to examine how Islamic values and local wisdom are integrated, and 3) to explore the impact of collaboration between tourism activities and religious traditions on the preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach conducted in Kampoeng Lama. The findings reveal that 1) the Muslim community actively participates in preserving local culture through tourism involvement, homestay management, and organizing cultural and religious events; 2) Islamic values such as justice, cleanliness, and simplicity form the ethical, sustainable, and environmentally respectful foundation of tourism management; and 3) the collaboration between tourism and religious traditions—such as Quranic recitations, communal prayers, and Islamic festivals—strengthens spiritual identity and fosters harmony between locals and visitors. This synergy positions Kampoeng Lama Tourism Village as a model of Islamic community-based tourism that harmoniously integrates economic, social, cultural, and religious dimensions in a sustainable manner.
