The scientific writing training at MA Al Fatah Ambon was a community empowerment initiative aimed at enhancing students’ academic competence through a service learning approach. This program sought to equip twelfth-grade students with essential knowledge and skills in academic writing, including paper structure, proper citation, and academic ethics. Conducted over one day, the training combined lectures, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and ice-breaking activities to maintain engagement. The facilitators were students from the Islamic Education Management Department (MPI) of IAIN Ambon, experienced in scientific writing. Strong collaboration among the school, organizers, and facilitators played a key role in the program’s success. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of scientific writing and increased motivation to write critically and systematically. Moreover, the activity fostered awareness of the importance of academic literacy as preparation for higher education. The awarding of certificates to participants and the school served as recognition of their active involvement. This training is expected to initiate a culture of scientific literacy within the madrasah and strengthen the role of Islamic education in improving human resource quality.
