Legal education for inmates at the Pamekasan Narcotics Prison is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing legal awareness and supporting their social rehabilitation. This program, organized by the Faculty of Law at Madura University in collaboration with the Pamekasan Narcotics Prison, employs polling, counseling, and practical training methods to equip inmates with a deeper understanding of the law, particularly regarding drug abuse and its consequences. The primary goal of this program is to instill a legal culture, reduce recidivism rates, and shape individuals who are more law-abiding upon reintegration into society. Findings indicate that an approach combining legal awareness with social and moral values has a positive impact on inmates’ mindset and behavior. Additionally, religious values are incorporated as a moral foundation to help them navigate life post-incarceration. With improved legal understanding, inmates are expected to become productive members of society and avoid future legal transgressions. This program under-scores the vital role of comprehensive legal education in fostering sustainable social change while supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.
